Day 16

Today I pray for the gospel of Jesus to spread like fire throughout Aotearoa

Scripture: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life Psalm 22:27-28 “ all the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations”.

Gospel: The announcement that Jesus has brought the reign of God to our world through his life, death, and resurrection from the dead. The Gospel of Jesus is the foundational message of Christianity, and it's the most profound expression of God's love and grace for humanity. In this brief teaching, we'll explore the essence of the Gospel and its transformative power. The Gospel Message: At the heart of the Gospel is the message that God's love for the world is so profound that He sacrificed His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to provide a way for humanity to have eternal life. The Gospel is the good news of salvation, forgiveness, and reconciliation with God through faith in Jesus Christ. The Message of Redemption: The Gospel declares that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23), and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). However, the good news is that Jesus came to take our place, bearing the penalty for our sins through His death on the cross. Through faith in Him, we can experience forgiveness and eternal life. The Power of Transformation: The Gospel is not just about securing a place in heaven but also about experiencing a transformed life here on earth. It invites us to turn away from our old ways, receive the Holy Spirit, and be conformed to the image of Christ. Through the Gospel, we can live with purpose, joy, and hope. Let us pray: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus, and the Gospel message that brings salvation and eternal life. We recognize our need for Your grace and forgiveness. Help us to fully embrace the transformative power of the Gospel in our lives, so that we may reflect Your love and light to the world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
